The Head of ODA MarCom will lead ODA Network’s marketing and communications efforts to raise awareness, engage members & partners, and amplify the organization’s impact. The role includes a board position, where you will become a member of the ODA-Nettverk board. This is a volunteer role ideal for a passionate tech enthusiast with marketing/communications experience who wants to contribute to a meaningful cause.
About the team:
Our MarCom team consists of 6-8 members with various backgrounds within project management, media, communications and marketing. The team members are localized in Oslo and like to get together physically for monthly status meetings.
As Head of MarCom, your key responsibilities together with the team will be:
Strategy & Branding:
- Develop and implement a MarCom strategy aligned with ODA Network’s mission.
- Strengthen brand identity and ensure engaging and consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Implement ODA-Network’s new visual identity.
Digital & Social Media:
- Manage social media channels, creating engaging content, together with the team experts
- Grow online presence and foster community interaction.
- Coordinate campaigns and newsletters for members and partners.
Content Creation & Outreach:
- Write press releases, posts, and advocacy materials.
- Build relationships with media, partners, and influencers to amplify ODA-Networks’ voice.
- Support new initiatives and campaigns with compelling storytelling.
Internal Communications:
- Facilitate communication between volunteers, teams, and leadership.
- Lead our internal digital check ins with all ODA-Network volunteers
- Maintain website updates or collaborate with web volunteers.
Team Collaboration:
- Support team collaboration across
- Enable local teams with marketing toolbox and guidelines
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in marketing, communications, or PR (professional or volunteer).
- Familiarity with social media management, communication strategy, marketing and some design experience (or willingness to learn).
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Passion for ODA Network’s cause and non-profit work.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work remotely.
Time Commitment:
- ~4–6 hours/week (flexible, depending on campaigns/events).
- Monthly physical meetings with the team
- Occasional virtual meetings with other initiatives/teams/the board.
